ABOUT US
Who We Are
Dark Horse Athletics is a multi-brand athlete development organization that supports players and families at every stage of the hockey journey. Through training, competition, guidance, media, technology, and community support, our brands work together to create a connected pathway rather than isolated experiences.
We believe development is strongest when environments reinforce each other. Skill training should prepare athletes for games. Competition should create learning opportunities. Guidance should provide clarity. Technology should improve access and understanding. The community should ensure that opportunities exist for everyone.
Instead of offering a single program, Dark Horse Athletics operates a coordinated ecosystem designed to remove confusion and provide structure for families navigating youth sports. Each brand serves a distinct role, but all share a common purpose: helping athletes grow as players and as people.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create clear, structured pathways that help athletes develop skills, confidence, and character through sport.
We aim to reduce the uncertainty families often experience in youth athletics by providing consistent coaching environments, transparent guidance, and opportunities appropriate to each stage of development. The goal is not simply advancement in sport, but long-term growth through the habits and experiences participation provides.
We measure success by preparation — athletes who understand expectations, make informed decisions, and carry lessons learned through sport into other areas of life.
Leadership
Dark Horse Athletics is led by coaches, operators, and educators who have worked across training environments, team settings, events, and athlete development programs. Our leadership group shares a practical understanding of youth sports from both professional and family perspectives.
The organization was built to align systems that traditionally operate separately—instruction, competition, evaluation, and guidance—so that athletes receive consistent messaging and expectations regardless of the setting.
Leadership focuses on long-term stability rather than short-term outcomes. Programs are developed to be repeatable, scalable, and clear so families can rely on consistent experiences year after year.
Partners & Sponsors
Dark Horse Athletics works with organizations that value athlete development, positive experiences, and long-term participation in sport. Partnerships support programs, events, media coverage, and access initiatives that benefit players and families.
We prioritize partnerships that contribute meaningfully to the athlete experience — whether through equipment support, educational resources, facility collaboration, or community investment. Sponsors are integrated into environments where they enhance the experience rather than interrupt it.
Organizations interested in working together can contact us to explore opportunities aligned with shared values and mutual benefit.
Careers
We believe in continual improvement and advancement — for athletes and for the people who support them. If you’re interested in joining a team of dedicated professionals working to positively impact the sports experience, explore current opportunities within the Dark Horse Athletics ecosystem.
Culture
At Dark Horse Athletics, culture is not a slogan — it is an operating system. We use the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to bring clarity and consistency to how we work, communicate, and make decisions. Every team member understands priorities, roles, and expectations, allowing us to spend less time navigating confusion and more time improving the athlete experience.
Our core beliefs center on development, responsibility, and respect for the process. We believe improvement comes from preparation, consistency matters more than intensity, and the environment shapes outcomes. Coaches coach, operators operate, and leaders support — each role exists to serve athletes and families rather than personal recognition.
What makes our culture uncommon is alignment across every part of the organization. Training, competition, guidance, media, and community initiatives reinforce the same expectations and values. Team members are encouraged to think long-term, collaborate across brands, and continuously refine how we serve athletes.
